Extras are classes to enhance your Pilates practice that step outside of the box!

Helios Healthy Mom's Program - F
At Helios Center for Movement, we offer 10 week sessions for students before, during and after their pregnancy. We emphasize the importance of safety as well as strength from the preparation stage of pre-conception through to birth and recovery for both mom and baby.  If you are new to Pilates, we recommend our Introductory Package of private sessions to learn the basics. From there, our instructors will recommend the proper course of practice to promote the safety of both you and your baby throughout the duration of your pregnancy and beyond.  
*Doctor's note required.  

*New mothers are welcome back to class after a minimum of 6 weeks post-delivery to ensure the proper amount of healing and re-setting time for your muscles and joints.


Spine Corrector - F
This class uses a piece of Pilates apparatus, commonly referred to as the Spine Corrector. The exercises in this intermediate practice class will open and elongate the spine, strengthen the abdominals, and work the entire body, with a focus on spinal mechanics. Pilates experience and consistent attendance is strongly recommended.
*Pre-requisite: Completion of Introductory Package and/or permission of instructor.

Fletcher Pilates Sculpt -P
This class will explore the innovative Floorwork, Towelwork and Barrework designed by Master Teacher Ron Fletcher as well as Pilates Matwork.  A great way to expand your strength and flexibility with a workout you can do anywhere!
*Pre-requisite - Completion of Introductory Package and/or permission of instructor.

Special Programs
Helios Running Club
April 8th- June 8th, 2010
Thursdays:6am - 7:30am
 
 
Running Program: Structured 45 minute runs, combining distance, speed and plyometric work to improve technique and overall performance. Appropriate for the beginner and/or the intermediate runner.

Fletcher Pilates Program: Post-run pilates program, combining multiplanar movement to counter the linear movement of running.  Hips, hamstrings, ankle flexibility and ROM, and scapular stability will be the main focus of each session to improve upon these common trouble areas for runners.

Studio Intensive:
Due to the popularity of this 10 week program, Session IV will begin 5/26/10.  The program is made of an intense study of Pilates Matwork, Fletcher Towelwork, Fletcher Barrework, Fletcher Floorwork, Spine Corrector, and Magic Circle! Perfect for the beginner or for those looking to enhance their current practice with small equipment work!
